5 beautiful beachside Brighton cafes and restaurants

Brighton, Uncategorized

Why go anywhere else this summer when you can have the perfect staycation along the South East coast in Brighton? Take a meander along Brighton’s pebbled stretch of beautiful beach, from the glittering Brighton Pier to happy Hove to experience beachside dining at its finest – Brighton doesn’t just do fish and chips, but that’s glorious too! Don’t get in a pickle if you’re looking for a new place to eat in the city as we’ve rounded up some of our favourite diners, with a side order of sea breeze, and a sprinkle of warm sunshine – yep, it’s finally here!

Thewitchez Photo Design Cafe Bar

We love a new café discovery in Brighton! This gem along the Marine Parade, tucked away in between a myriad of B&BS and hotels, is the UK’s first photo design café bar, where ‘great coffee, fantastic homemade food, creative environment and good energy’ is served up on a daily basis. Go to Thewitchez café to nibble on some Swedish herring, sip on some Small Batch coffee or to put your mug on a mug! Photo sessions, menus, events and atmosphere are all family-friendly, so bring along the whole crew for a relaxing afternoon by the seafront!

Marrocco’s

The food at Marrocco’s is hearty, authentic and packed with flavour! Skip inside to pick up an ice cream to eat on the beach in the sunshine or dash past the dessert counter to order a fine plate of food. Pizzas at Marrocco’s are wide and juicy and its seafood will transport you all the way to the Mediterranean coast – with a bit of Brighton charm. We recommend the Cozze Marinara to start: a big bowl of fragrant mussels with freshly baked bread. If you live in Brighton and Hove, the long queue for ice-cream outside Marrocco’s during the summer months will be all too familiar!

The View

Take a stroll along the seafront from Brighton Pier all the way along to Western Esplanade to reach this popular pit-stop. You’ll be hard pressed to find another Hove restaurant within touching distance of the beach! Its superb beach front location and Persian dishes keep locals coming back for more. Perfect for alfresco dining during the summer, or a cosy go-to restaurant and events venue with sea views throughout the year.

Ohso Social

Nestle onto a table at Ohso Social to gaze out at the glorious English Channel in all its glory with the sights, sounds and smells from Brighton Pier radiating nearby. The summer bustle at Ohso Social never ceases, which only adds to the communal, and oh-so cool ambience below its trademark disco balls along the promenade. So head to Ohso Social for a slice of the action, summer DJ parties, or to sample its summer menu to top up your energy levels after a beach break.

Alfresco

Alfresco

Known as one of Brighton’s most romantic venues overlooking the haunting West Pier, Alfresco plays host to weddings and other events throughout the year – and the food isn’t too shabby either! Once occupied by squatters in the mid-1990s, the building had to be completely renovated. The additional glass restaurant was erected to mark the Millennium year, and the rest is history!

This summer is shaping up to be a scorcher following a lacklustre start to season! Now is the time to pat yourselves down after a day at the office and head out to one of Brighton and Hove’s beach-front cafes and restaurants to make this a vintage summer with plenty of memories of sun kissed faces and colourful dishes.
