Guides, London

The London Street Food scene is world class. From outstanding burgers and fried chicken to noodle bars and dumpling stalls, there’s no limitations to what you can find. Today’s Alternative Guide touches on one of our favourite burger joints…

Introducing Backstreet Diner, a Food Truck started by London chef Ben Lindsay. So what’s the story behind it? Well after working for the last 14 years in London restaurants, 5 wonderful years at St John to running award winning gastro pubs, Ben decided it was time to get out and have a bit of fun. Backstreet Diner cooks beautiful produce letting rip with Americana diner-style burgers, taking them to a new echelon. Using rare breed meats and local suppliers wherever possible this is simple honest cooking for everyone, all from gourmand foodies to your mum will be won over.

Wriggle Recommends: You’ve got to try their classic cheeseburger. It’ll bring tears of joy.

Where to find: Always moving! But regularly found Outside 40 Clifton Street, London EC2A 4EY (check their website for their up to date movements).
