Guides, London

London shimmers with hidden gems. Welcome to the first post in Wriggle’s alternative guide to London where we shine a light on London’s best restaurants, pubs, food and drink that you may have missed just under your nose.

Introducing StringRay Globe Cafe. Specialising in thin crust pizzas (also with delicious gluten free options) it’s one of London’s favourite pizza joints (and in particular Wriggle’s Louise ,who says it’s her favourite Wriggle venue). A local institution on Columbia Road for more than a decade, StringRay Globe Cafe is a welcoming and relaxed affair. Pine tables, brightly painted walls and scuffed floors give it a free spirited sensibility that attracts some of the area’s creative characters who return time and time again for the tasty food, beer on tap and generous hospitality of the StingRay Cafe Team. We’ve never found out why it’s StringRay with the r after the t – let us know if you solve the mystery!

Wriggle Recommends:  Pizza Diavola. Thin crust pizza, tomato, buffalo mozzarella, spicy Italian salami and chillies

Where to find: Stringray Globe Café, 109 Columbia Road, London, E2 7RL
