November is the best month to see comedy in the capital, slotting nicely in between the post-Edinburgh Festival lull and the lager-fuelled heckling of the dreaded ‘office Christmas party’ audiences.

This year is no different, with world-class acts playing throughout the month at some of London’s coolest comedy venues. Take a look at our list of shows that will keep you chuckling as the nights draw in.

There was a time when American comic Rob Delaney was more recognisable over here from his Twitter avatar, but his reputation in the UK has finally started to match that of his superstar status across the pond. There are also star names further down the bill with the likes of Richard Herring, Joe Wilkinson and Brett Goldstein.

Stewart Lee is widely regarded as one of the best comedians working today, and if you missed the chance to get a ticket for his upcoming, sold-out run at the Leicester Square Theatre, you can catch him in the intimate setting of The Hob in Forest Hill: one of the London comedy scene’s real hidden gems. For just £10, it’s a real bargain and there’s great support from card-throwing ninja, Javier Jarquin, Paul McCaffrey and Juliet Meyers.

His latest show, Bow-Ties & Johnnies arrives at the Soho Theatre on the back of a sell-out run at this year’s fringe and focuses on the young comic’s Etonian upbringing and failed sexual conquests. Expect self-deprecation, desperation and a bucket-load of charm.
